<h3>Purpose of the Award</h3>
<p>The Young Asian Biotechnologist Prize stimulates research and honors outstanding accomplishments in the field of biotechnology by young scientists in Asia other than Japan. <br />
&nbsp;</p>
<h3>Eligibility Criteria</h3>
<p>Candidates must be actively engaged in research in the field of biotechnology as a staff of a private or governmental organization in Asian countries other than Japan, and must have their research work published in the Journal of Bioscience and Bioengineering in the past 5 years. The candidate must be 45 years old or younger as of January 1, 2010.</p>
<h3>Selection</h3>
<p>One recipient shall be granted annually by the board committee of the Society, upon the recommendation of the prize selection committee.</p>
<h3>Prize</h3>
<p>The prize laureate shall be presented with a certificate and a plaque during&nbsp;the Annual Meeting at <a target="_blank" href="http://www.seagaia.co.jp/index_en.html">Phoenix Seagaia Resort</a>&nbsp; in&nbsp; Miyazaki, Japan from &nbsp;<strong>October 27 to 29, 2010</strong>, where the laureate delivers the Young Asian Biotechnologist Prize Lecture. Travel expenses to the Meeting shall be borne by the Society.&nbsp;</p>
<h3>Nominations</h3>
<p>A member of the Society for Biotechnology, Japan may submit one nomination. Nominations must be received by March 12 (Fri.), 2010. Self-nominations will not be accepted. Nominations must consist of the following:</p>
<ul>
    <li>Nomination form containing a description of scientific accomplishments on which the nomination is based.</li>
    <li>Curriculum vitae, including a list of publications.</li>
    <li>Reprints/Copies of 5 major publications including at least one article published in the Journal of Bioscience and Bioengineering (JBB).</li>
</ul>
