How to associate an existing ScienceDirect user profile if you have forgotten it

If you already have an account in ScienceDirect but have forgotten the existing ScienceDirect user-profile (User Name and Password), firstly go to the ScienceDirect Home Page (http://www.sciencedirect.com/) and click "Forgotten password?".

Your User Name and Password will be sent to the e-mail address you provide. You then need to log in with the User Name and Password to ScienceDirect at www.sciencedirect.com/ and log out quickly to validate your existing user-profile.

To register for access with your existing ScienceDirect user profile

Once you have your existing ScienceDirect User-Profile, firstly go to the "ActivationCode Redemption" page　(https://www.sciencedirect.com/jbiosc/activate/member) and enter your membership number.
 

The next step will give the option to associate an existing ScienceDirect user-profile to your society member’s access.  This means that your one user-profile will allow you to access your Members’ Access Site as well as any other ScienceDirect subscriptions.

Once your have followed the instructions for associating an existing user-profile to the Society Member’s access, please then go to the site site（http://www.sciencedirect.com/jbiosc）and log in again with the User Name and Password.

How to retrieve a forgotten username or password

Please remember, the Forgotten Password link will not function on the Society Service Site.  Therefore, to retrieve a forgotten ScienceDirect user-profile (User Name and Password), it is important to go to the ScienceDirect Home Page (http://www.sciencedirect.com/) and use the link "Forgotten Password?" here.

Your User Name and Password will be sent to the e-mail address you provide.
You then need to log in with the User Name and Password to Member’s Access Site at www.sciencedirect.com/jbiosc.
