Character Limit

The character limits, including spaces, are as follows (HTML tags are not counted toward the character limit).

  • Title: 200 characters
  • Author information (names and affiliation abbreviations): 400 characters
  • Abstract: 4,270 characters

Title

  • Capitalize only the first letter of the title; use lowercase for the remaining words, except for proper nouns.
  • Do not use abbreviations in the title.
  • Do not place a period at the end.
    e.g.) Heat-shock transformation of <i>Escherichia coli</i>

Abstract

  • Within 4,270 characters. Figures and tables cannot be included in the abstract.
  • Please note that excessive paragraph breaks in the abstract text may result in extremely tight line spacing in the Meeting Abstracts due to space limitations, which can make it difficult to read.

Affiliations

Abbreviate all authors’ affiliations.  See Abbreviation List

Authors

  • Enter each author’s surname first, followed by the first name and middle name (if any), with only the first letter capitalized.
  • If an author does not have a surname, enter an asterisk (*) in place of the surname.

Keywords

Select keywords from the lists (up to four).
If you cannot find an appropriate keyword, select “Others” and enter your keyword in the provided field.

  • Use lowercase letters, except for words that are normally capitalized as proper nouns.
  • Use only single-byte English characters for keywords.

e.g.) lactic acid, biomass, <i>Aspergillus oryzae</i>, α-amylase
