We are pleased to announce that 2009 Excellent Paper Award of the Society for Biotechnology, Japan has been awarded to Mr. Gianni Ciofani, Mr. Antonio Migliore, Dr. Vittoria Raffa, Prof. Dr. Arianna Menciassi, and Prof. Paolo Dario for their paper entitled "Bicompartmental Device for Dynamic Cell Coculture: Design, Realisation and Preliminary Results", which was published in the Journal of Bioscience and Bioengineering, vol. 105, p. 536-544 (2008).

The paper was selected from all articles published in the volumes of 105 and 106 of the Journal of Bioscience and Bioengineering in 2008, based on its outstanding quality in both presentation and scientific contribution and for its impact on the field of biotechnology.
