The Society for Biotechnology, Japan has collaborative relationship with Asian Federation of Biotechnology (AFOB) to promote biotechnology in Asia. In response to the East Japan Great Earthquake that recently struck the Tohoku-Kanto area in Japan, we received a heartfelt message and donation from the AFOB Korean Regional Branch Office.

The donation of KRW 2,374,328 (Korean Won) from 19 board members of the AFOB Korean Regional Branch was made through Korean Red Cross on April 1, 2011. The donation will be used to aid earthquake relief efforts in Japan.

We would like to express our sincere appreciation to the AFOB Korean Regional Branch Office and hope we can develop more cooperative relationship with AFOB in the future.
