Dr. Nguyen Nhu Sang (Institute for Environment Resources, VNU-HCMC, Vietnam) has been selected as the winner of the 2011 Young Asian Biotechnologist Prize in recognition of his outstanding accomplishments in the field of biotechnology. Award Ceremony willl be held on Monday, September 26, 2011 during the 63rd SBJ Annual Meeting in Tokyo, Japan. Dr. Nguyen Nhu Sang will deliver the Young Asian Biotechnologist Prize Lecture after the ceremony.

Dr. Nguyen Nhu Sang

Dr. Nguyen Nhu SangDr. Nguyen Nhu Sang is a lecturer of Institute for Environment and Resources (IER), Vietnam National University – Ho Chi Minh City. He has taught at IER and at several universities as a visiting lecturer. His research and teaching interests include waste and wastewater engineering, accelerated decomposition of solid waste in landfills and environmental management.

He has published extensively in international referred journals for these subjects. In addition to his academic activities, he has served and worked on both local and international environmental projects. He has also been a consultant to large Vietnamese and multinational firms related to application of biological and chemical processes for waste and wastewater treatment.
