The 2011 impact factor of the Journal of Bioscience and Bioengineering (JBB) has been released by Thomson Reuters ISI. We are pleased to announce that JBB has achieved record Impact Factor of 1.793, which increased by 0.086 points from the rate of 1.707 in 2010.

We received 750 submissions in 2011, which increased by 40% from 540 in 2010. JBB is continuously gaining attention as a leading journal in the field of biotechnology and applied microbiology. With dedicated editors and reviewers, our editor-in- chief, Prof. Masahiro Takagi has been working very hard to further improve the journal publication.
