JBB: Warning about fraudulent emails
We have been made aware of fraudulent call for papers which solicits payment for processing fee regarding publication in the Journal of Bioscience and Bioengineering (JBB).
Here are several pieces of evidence make it obvious that the e-mails are fraudulent:
- The email requests authors to submit a manuscript by email.
- The e-mail was not sent from Elsevier (@elsevier.com), nor from JBB Editorial Office(@sbj.or.jp) .
- The e-mail solicits payment for processing fee which is not required for publication in JBB.
- The e-mail was signed as “Rex Hammond (Prof.) , Editorial Assistant”.
JBB only accept submissions via an online submission system, Elsevier Editorial System (EES). Please refer to Instructions to Authors before submitting your manuscript.
Anyone who receives an email purporting to be from Elsevier and suspects it to be fraudulent or a scam should simply delete it.
Please see Elsevier's "Editors' Update" for further information.
