The Society for Biotechnology, Japan (SBJ) has agreement with The Korean Society for Biotechnology and Bioengineering (KSBB) for the promotion of collaboration since 1998. Based on the new agreement reached in 2016, five SBJ delegates attended the KSBB meetings in 2017 (three in the spring meeting and two in the fall meeting).

Prof. Masahiro Takagi (SBJ vice president, JAIST) and Prof. Hideo Nakano (Nagoya Univ.) gave a keynote lecture at the KSBB Fall Meeting and International Symposium, which was held at the Busan Exhibition & Convention Center (BEXCO) from October 11 to 13, 2017.
