The 2020 Young Asian Biotechnologist Prize is awarded to Chong Zhang, Associate Professor at the Department of Chemical Engineering, Tsinghua University for his outstanding achievements in the field of biotechnology.

The DaSilva Award is awarded to Norhayati Ramli, Associate Professor at the Department of Bioprocess Technology, Faculty of Biotechnology and Biomolecular Sciences, Universiti Putra Malaysia in recognition of her work in the field of microbial biotechnology.

Excellent Paper Award of SBJ is awarded to the authors of the papers published in the Journal of Bioscience and Bioengineering (JBB) and Seibutsu-kogaku Kaishi. Those papers were selected from all articles published in the volumes of 127 and 128 of JBB, or in the volume 97 of Seibutsu-kogaku Kaishi, based on their outstanding quality in both presentation and scientific contribution and for their impact on the field of biotechnology.
